T
he two newest vacation homes at Spinning Wheel—The Chaw”se House and The Hetch Hetchie House—are located across the Tuolumne River from the other homes. These homes were built after the devastating Rim Fire of 2013, which destroyed two older cabins on the property. The Chaw”se House and The Hetch Hetchie House were designed to provide the best possible vacation experience for our guests, and we feel that these new homes represent our contribution to the rebirth and rejuvenation that we see all around us – in the human residents of the area, the wildlife, and the forest itself.

PLEASE NOTE: A sturdy footbridge spans the river to provide easy access to these houses. Guests at The Chaw”se House and The Hetch Hetchie House must park on the far side of the river and their luggage can be loaded into our golf cart to cross the bridge. The bridge is for foot traffic only no personal vehicles may drive across it.

Named for the Native American grinding rocks, that are thousands of years old, are found on the banks of the nearby Tuolomne River, this brand new house is ideal for a large group of up to 13 people. The rambling 4 bedroom/3 bath home is focused on convenience and comfort, and you’ll be drawn to relaxing evenings over a movie on the big flat screen TV and conversation on the large sectional couch. Prepare meals together with family and friends in the fully equipped kitchen – the spacious dining room can easily accommodate large dinner parties.

But there’s also time for a good book from the house’s selection, a cup of coffee out on the large redwood deck, or a peaceful stroll by the middle fork of the Tuolumne river – only 80 feet away. Big groups will appreciate The Chaw’se House’s location near legendary Yosemite Valley and can enjoy the tranquility of Spinning Wheel when they return from a day of sightseeing.
